We're enjoying a crazy summer (already), before Kate starts Kindergarten (ALREADY!!?) this fall. Our kids are so much fun, and we are SO blessed! If you want to browse our pictures, you can do so at our new Google Picasa album). |

Well, we're back from the hospital. If you didn't know, at Kate's 2-week checkup, the doctor discovered that only part of her cord had fallen off, and she'd developed an infection at her belly button. Fortunately, it was just a skin infection - it hadn't gone system-wide yet, so a few days of antibiotics managed to clear the infection up, and the rest of her cord even came off! God was really watching out for us on this one - there were no symptoms or any way of knowing what was going on (even the doctor was surprised when she found the infection), and if the appointment had been a day earlier or a day later, it could easily been more serious.
So, 72 hours of IV antibiotics in the hospital, and some oral antibiotics that we've got to give her for a few days, and the story's over...praise God! (Latest count...8 days in the first two weeks of her life have been in the hospital...groan!)
Update: pictures from the last week or so, including pictures from her hospital stay, have been added into Kate's pictures section.
